Service Activities:

1. Help to Thalassemic Patients: One of the major causes that our club has taken up is to help Thalassemic children & their families in the following ways:

1. Providing financial assistance for subsidizing the cost of expensive medicines (iron chilators) that they have to take every month. 

2. Providing free Blood transfusion sets & canula to these patients.  They require roughly 200 of these every month.

3. Organizing blood donation camps for arranging blood for these patients.  Each patient requires 1 – 3 units of blood every month, to survive.

4. Providing financial help to very poor & needy families of these patients.

2. Blood Donation Camps:

We organize regular blood donation camps and most of the donors at our camps are college going students from well-to-do families, owners, managers & office staff of various industries of Boranada.  We target at collecting blood from people eating nutritious food and having healthy lifestyle.

At present we are dedicating our blood donation camps for the help of Thalassemic patients and all blood collected goes to Blood Bank at Govt. run Umed Hospital, Jodhpur.

Jodhpur National University, Jhawar Road, Boranada is an active partner in organizing these blood donation camps for us.

3. Medical Camps at villages:

We organize regular Medical camps in rural areas around Boranada to help poor patients from villages and to spread awareness about leading a healthy life and giving up bad habits like smoking, drinking alcohol etc.  Dr. K. C. Agarwal, Unit Head & Professor, Kamla Nagar Chest Hospital is kind enough to provide his services on regular basis for our camps.

4.  Encouraging students:

We team up with schools in rural areas for giving prizes to students who have fared well in exams or who take part actively in various activities organized by their school.  We are further working with these schools to increase our activities in these areas

5. Diagnostic Centre:

There is no well-equipped diagnostic centre in or around Boranada.  Hence our club has purchased an X-Ray machine which is being installed at the campus of Jodhpur National University, Jhawar Road, Boranada and we would be buying other such diagnostic machines and operate a diagnostic centre in Boranada so that poor villagers can get good diagnostic facilities and that too on cost basis. 

6. Tree Plantation & Environment Care:

We organize regular tree plantation activities in Boranada.  All tree plantations are done in or around the factories / premises of members so that the members can water and take care of the trees till these grow big enough to stand on their own. We are also spreading awareness in the society for keeping the vicinity clean and green so that we can live in a clean and green area.

7. Fellowship development:

We organize get-together of lion members and their families on regular basis so that they could get to know each other and work together for uplifting the deprived sections of the society.

We would be taking up more such service activities in the future for betterment of living conditions of poor & deprived sections of our society.
